This weekend sees the return of the Supercross Championship in Salt Lake City. 7 rounds, 1 stadium; this hopes to be the best high stakes racing to round off the season.

After quite a dry spell, the Supercross is finally back this Sunday. Salt Lake City will be hosting all 7 of the remaining rounds, giving Roczen and Tomac the stage to settle this title battle.
Regardless of the result, it'll be good to have some resumed reality.
The last race in Daytona left things tight at the top, with just 3 points separating Tomac and Roczen at the top. The big gap down to Webb in third leaves little to boast about for the reigning World Champion, so it'll be an interesting watch to see if Cooper can recover the deficit in Utah.
Despite the big gap, it is looking like this season is being dominated by three riders. Is there potential to end these 17 rounds with just 4 different race winners? From the races we've seen so far, it definitely looks possible.
The latest track map shows the return of a more conventional Supercross setup, stepping away from the unorthodoxly designed Daytona.

We already knew the end of the season would be controversial by not having Vegas as the finale, but no one could have expected this.
The format has been changed slightly on the lead up to these final rounds, but things should remain relatively similar to us for the most part.
According to Supercross Officials, "the racing format has been adjusted to reduce the number of athletes to stay within the minimum requirements and a standard race format will be used for all seven rounds, except for the finale which will be an Eastern/Western Regional 250SX Class Showdown."
Supercross Race Format for Final Seven Rounds:
450SX Class - 40 Riders based on current point standings and 2020 top 100 number or combined season qualifying results
250SX Class - 40 Riders based on current point standings and 2020 top 100 number or combined season qualifying results
Two qualifying sessions will be held for gate pick
250SX Class – Two Heat Races and a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ)

Only the top 40 in each class are competing, but this season is only a two horse race if you ask me.
My money is on Roczen, but as we know, Daytona is often considered a turning point in the season, so those mere 3 points may be all Eli needs to get the edge on Roczen.
After a lengthy break to the season and the comic relief of the E-Supercross events, the hype to get this Championship back underway is piling on in abundance.
But who do you think is going to get ahead in Utah? Is Tomac finally going to get his title or is Kenny going to complete a remarkable comeback from persistent injuries? Let us know in the comments below.
